Lowery Demolition was appointed as the principle contractor for the Demolition of the Former RBS Gold Bullion storage depot in Basingstoke. Due to the high security nature the building presented its own challenges when it came to dismantling. The Building itself was constructed of 400mm thick concrete walls with 10mm steel skin bonded to both inner and outer walls.
The Scope of works included;
- Asbestos removal.
- Strip out of offices and storage areas.
- Dismantling and salvage of existing steel frame building.
- Demolition of concrete and steel lined building.
- Removal of steel floor.
- Disposal of reinforced bank vaults.
- Crushing demolition arisings.
- Laying of piling mat.
Lowery Demolition used a range of specialist demolition attachments in order to peel back the steel skin and break this away from the concrete walls so that they could then be demolished in the traditional fashion. Tier 4 equipment was utilised on this project in order to reduce emissions in this built up area with live businesses operating in the neighboring units. Dust suppression was also used to minimise dust disruption whilst demolition and crushing took place.
We delivered this project on time and with safety at top of our priorities at all times, how a demolition project should be delivered. For any demolition enquiries please contact us at info@lowerydemolition.com
