M O’Brien Group of companies sign up to Supply chain sustainability school plant charter

The M O’Brien Group are pleased to be among the first organisations to sign up to the Supply chain sustainability schools new Plant Charter.

The Plant Group has been working on how the sector can collaborate to reduce both air quality emissions that lead to local health impacts and the global effects of carbon emissions from the plant and equipment we all use.  As a result, the group developed the Charter to encapsulate and communicate their approach to this common goal across the group and lead the industry in its sustainability journey.

“With more telematic data available than ever before from our plant and haulage fleet, its never been easier for us to see and understand the environmental impact of our construction activities. Using this data and sharing it with our clients is a big part of our sustainability road-map at M O’Brien. From our point of view it allows us to make more informed decisions about machinery acquisitions as well as help our customers with equipment selection. That’s something we are already quite far down the road on, and in joining the School, the plant group and signing the charter we are committing to both broaden and share our knowledge of sustainability to take on board new initiatives to take us forward.” Dan O’Brien, Director

Having recently upgraded to a partner of the supply chain sustainability school, M O’Brien are keen to learn and adopt best practice across the business and support our clients with the achievement of their own targets as well as wider goals such as the construction 2025 publication.
